Left is my freshly harvested horsetail. Just gorgeous!

This herb is just amazing.  I have been incorporating it into my formulas for a while now and just love what it apparently does.  It is one of the oldest plants on this planet (or versions of it are) and has been used for centuries, even millennia, as a healing herb.  It has been used for treating many internal issues like arthritis, osteoporosis, bladder and kidney infections, tuberculous, fevers, flu, and hemorrhoids, just to name a few.

However, I sought it out for what it can do to our hair and skin.  It is known for preventing dandruff and hair loss and contains a high level of silica which can fortify your hair. Its wound-healing and anti-inflammation qualities are known to help scalp issues.  Horsetail is a natural ingredient to keep your eyes open for.  I have incorporated this herb into my Keep It Big, Blonde, Balanced, and Healthy Shampoo Bars.

I recently harvested some wild horsetail and the difference between what I purchase from my amazing suppliers and what I harvested myself is astonishing.  My harvest is vibrant green and fresh!  I am in love with it.  I can't wait to go harvest some more to create some infusions that I will incorporate into some formulas I am working on.  I am also in the works of developing some Hair Rinses and a new facial cleanser that will contain this lovely herb.  Keep your eyes open for when these hit my store this summer!
